Types of Dental Technology
Our dentists and team use a range of dental technology in diagnosing and treating the dental health needs of our patients, including:
Digital x-rays: X-rays, also called radiographs, are a significant component of a dental examination. At Advanced Dentistry, we proudly utilize digital x-ray technology, which is safer and emits far less radiation than traditional film methods. X-rays allow our dentists to view internal areas of your teeth and jaw and visualize concerns that may not be apparent when looking into your mouth. We capture digital x-rays that instantly transmit high-definition images of your mouth to our computer system. These images can be enlarged as needed to enhance our diagnostic abilities.
3D digital imaging: Our team uses advanced 3D imaging techniques to capture highly precise impressions of the mouth. Safe for patients of all ages, digital impressions are taken through the use of an intraoral scanner that takes detailed images of your teeth and gums in the upper and lower arches without us having to us goopy, uncomfortable impression materials and trays. We can then easily send these impressions to dental labs for greater precision in fabricating custom appliances, like Invisalign aligners, retainers, crowns, and porcelain veneers.
"Great visit on Thursday at Advanced Dentistry! Natalie is great and explained everything before she did anything. The little dental bridge which held my mouth open while cleaning was very helpful! Dr Kwon was great, too!"- T.J. / Google / Jan 14, 2022
"Great professional care. Polite staff. Clear explanation of costs. Great location and facility. Happy to have switched!"- K.M. / Google / Jan 09, 2022
"Have not met the new Dentist or owners, but the equipment and facility are outstanding, and the yomi robot is comforting to know the Dr has that assistants touch."- P.A. / Google / Sep 28, 2021
"After a previous dentist botched a filling (twice) such that I caught food after every single meal (trashing my gums), I came to Advanced Dentistry for a re-do. It was a tricky spot and it continued to catch a little, so I came back in expecting to have to fight about it. Instead, Dr. Kwon agreed that it simply wasn't good enough, so they redid it AGAIN at no cost and it was immediately perfect--and six months on I'm still thrilled. Thank you Dr. Kwon!"- 1.G. / Google / Aug 25, 2021
"This was our first visit to Advanced Dentistry since the new staff and Doctor have arrived and they exceeded our expectations. Our new hygienist Natalie was very professional, kind and informative. We have been a patient in this location for many years sometimes flying over 6,000 miles to get treatment and the new doctor, Dr. Kwon was personable, knowledgeable and thorough. We were very happy with our visit and will continue as patients in the future."- D.C. / Google / Jul 09, 2021
When Is Advanced Technology Used?
Dental technologies at Advanced Dentistry can enhance the safety and oral health of many patients and are incorporated into care on an as-needed basis. These technologies can also provide a greater level of comfort over traditional approaches. We take digital dental x-rays on a preventive basis, often during dental exams, to screen for cavities, bone loss, and other oral health concerns. X-rays may also be taken to examine acute dental conditions, such as pain or damage, and to monitor changes in dental health over time. Digital impressions may be taken to prepare for and create dental restorations, like crowns, bridges, and veneers.
What to Expect During Care
We use state-of-the-art dental technology to improve the comfort of our patients, provide greater precision and accuracy during treatments, and ultimately enhance the quality of care we deliver. Before taking digital x-rays, impressions, or utilizing any type of equipment, our dentists and team will explain the process and how it might benefit your oral health. Our technologies also allow for many processes to be streamlined and completed more quickly, reducing the length of dental appointments and time spent in the dental chair.
Insurance Coverage for Advanced Technology
Dental insurance plans typically cover diagnostic processes, like dental x-rays, at certain intervals. Before getting started with any advanced technology or process, our team will review your policy and let you know of any potential out-of-pocket costs. Advanced Dentistry is dedicated to bringing best-in-class care to all patients and takes a range of convenient payment options to help take the financial worry out of your dental visits.
